TRADITIONS
Since 2007, OKK has sponsored a fishing tournament for hundreds of area children and their families. The tournament continues to be a huge success! Local families are treated to a day of fishing, a chance to win numerous goodies in a random drawing, complimentary lunch provided for everyone and every keiki takes home a prize of their choice. The tournament takes place January 25th beginning at 8am at Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach. The tournament is a canned food drive for local ohana in need.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:
8:00am Check-in/Registration (small pavilions)
9:00am Welcome - Rules & Guidelines (main event tent)
9:30am Distribution of fishing equipment
10-11:30am FISHING TOURNAMENT
12:00p Free lunch and shaved ice (served after lunch service ends)
1:00p Awards & Prizes (must be present to win):
*Special fish catch place-awards for largest: Kupipi, Aholehole, Hinale‘a, & Po‘opa‘a
*Special awards for most fish
TOURNAMENT RULES & DETAILS:
Bring a can of non-perishable food for the canned food drive
All keiki ages 1-14 are eligible to participate; must sign-up in advance
Every keiki fisherperson takes home a prize - catch or no catch
Tournament Rules:

Parent or legal guardian must accompany keiki at all times.

No chumming (palu) allowed

Hand-pole fishing only (no reels)

Personally-owned hand-poles allowed

Barbless hooks only (catch & release tournament)

Hand-poles, gear & bait provided
Parent/Guardian Permission and Liability Waiver form must be signed for all Keiki Participants.
